Programme overview

The Data Science programme aims to educate internationally recognised professionals who expertly apply the latest knowledge in statistics, econometrics and informatics to develop advanced mathematical and statistical models for planning, management, forecasting and performance evaluation across private and public institutions. As the only programme in the Baltic states offering advanced coursework in econometrics, informatics and mathematical statistics, it provides an interdisciplinary foundation that allows students to tailor their studies by choosing specialised subjects in statistics, econometrics or informatics. A key strength of the programme is its emphasis on practical data analysis, modern methodologies and hands‑on problem‑solving, ensuring that graduates can interpret complex datasets, design new analytical approaches and present insights clearly to clients and colleagues. With data specialists in high global demand and data analysis skills valued across all sectors, graduates are well prepared for diverse roles in analytical modelling, planning and forecasting within research centres, financial institutions, consulting firms, business analytics units, central banks, ministries and other public sector organisations.
