This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected and used when you visit studyin.lt (the “Site”).

This privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) defines the procedure for the collection, storage and use of personally identifiable information/data (hereinafter referred to as “Personal Information”) that you (hereinafter referred to as the “User”, “you” or “your”) may provide to the https://www.studyin.lt/ website (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Website”) by the Public Institution Educational Exchange Support Foundation, with the registered number 300629875, with the registered address at Rožių al. 2, 03106, Vilnius, Lithuania. It also outlines the choices available to you regarding the use of your personal information and how you can access, update and delete this information.

Each time you visit our Website, you agree to the terms and conditions described in this Policy.

We confirm that the data of visitors to our Website will be collected in accordance with the requirements of the applicable European Union and Republic of Lithuania legislation and the instructions of the controlling authorities. All reasonable technical and administrative measures are in place to ensure that the data we collect about visitors to our Website is protected from loss, unauthorised use and alteration.


How and what data do we process about you?

We receive and store any data that you provide to us:

  • by subscribing to our newsletter;
  • or otherwise entering information on our Website.

The information sent by your browser is only used to identify possible cases of abuse and to collect statistical information about the use of the Website. This statistical information is not collected to identify specific users of the system.


Your rights

You have the right to:

  • to know your data and how it is processed (right of access);
  • to have incomplete personal data rectified or, taking into account the purposes of the processing of personal data, supplemented (right to rectification);

  • to data portability (the right to port);
  • to object to the processing of personal data under the conditions set out in the GDPR, where such data is processed or intended to be processed;
  • lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority responsible for personal data.

If you no longer wish to have your personal data processed, including profiling, you may contact us using the contact details set out in this policy to object to the processing of your personal data.

You have the right to submit any request or instruction relating to the processing of your personal data to us in writing in one of the following ways: by delivering your request directly to Rožių al. 2, 03106, Vilnius, Lithuania or by email to privatumas@smpf.lt.

Upon receipt of such a request or instruction, we will respond within one month from the date of the request at the latest, and we will carry out the actions specified in the request or refuse to do so and provide the reasons for doing so. If necessary, the time limit may be extended by a further two months depending on the complexity and number of requests. In this case, we will inform you of the extension within one month of receipt of the request, together with the reasons for the delay.

We may not allow data subjects to exercise the rights listed above, except in the cases provided for by law, where it is necessary to ensure the prevention, investigation and detection of crimes, breaches of professional or professional ethics, as well as the protection of the rights and freedoms of the data subject or of other persons.


Disclosure of data to third parties

We do not sell, exchange or otherwise disclose your Personal Information to third parties without prior notice to you. This does not include Website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in administering the Website, conducting our business or servicing our users, provided that these parties agree to keep this information confidential.

We do not provide personal information to third parties for marketing purposes without your consent.

We will disclose any information we collect, use or receive if required or permitted by law, such as at the request of law enforcement authorities, and where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, to investigate fraud, or to comply with governmental requests.

We take appropriate administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect against unauthorised access, use, alteration and disclosure of the personal information we hold. However, we cannot guarantee that data will not be transmitted over the Internet or wirelessly.

Therefore, in our efforts to protect your personal information, you acknowledge that:

  • the security, integrity and privacy of all information and data exchanged between you and our Website cannot be guaranteed; and

We will keep your data for the purpose of sending the newsletter until you unsubscribe. On the Website, the information automatically recorded by our servers (your browser IP address and other Website browsing data referred to in the section of this Privacy Policy entitled “How and what personal data do we process about you?”) will be stored until the scheduled review of this data, which is carried out at least every three months.


Data breach

In the event that we become aware that the security of the Website has been breached or that users’ personal information has been disclosed to unrelated third parties as a result of external activities, including but not limited to security attacks or fraud, we will take appropriate measures, including but not limited to investigations and reports, and informing and cooperating with law enforcement authorities.

In the event of a data breach, we will endeavour to notify the affected individuals if we believe that the breach may cause harm to the user or if notification is required by law. In this case, we will post a notice on the Website and contact you by email.
