XI International Week at Šiauliai University

 On 25-29 April, 2016 the XI International Week was organised by the Department of International Programmes and Relations at Šiauliai University. 20 participants from higher education institutions of 14 countries (Brazil, Taiwan, Poland, Latvia, Portugal, Japan, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Czech Republic, Belarus and Kazakhstan) came in the framework of Erasmus+ programme and international cooperation agreements.

The International Study Fair was opened by musical performance – Barnabas Kpemogena Elogie played saxophone and exchange students studying at Šiauliai University performed several Lithuanian folk songs with Lithuanian national musical instrument “kanklės” (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gediminas Ramanauskas). The most active international students were awarded Certificates of Appreciation and small gifts. The participants of the Fair could see Erasmus+ posters prepared by the students of Šiauliai University. Erasmus+ poster competition has already become a tradition for Šiauliai University students. During the Fair foreign guests, Šiauliai University lecturers, students had an opportunity to share their experience, ideas about different issues in the fields of their interest, to present their universities, countries, cultures. After the Fair Research Institute organised a Round Table Discussion “RENET—Researchers’ Excellence Network”. During the discussion Researchers’ Excellence Network was presented to the participants. The tasks, main activities of the Network as well as benefits from being a member of it virtual network possibilities and scientific cooperation experiences were introduced. 

In addition, International Week programme included giving lectures for Šiauliai University students, meetings with colleagues at the faculties, departments, visits to Siauliai University Botanical Garden, Siauliai city Municipality, the Hill of Crosses and other events.
