MRU awarded a ECTS Label

Yesterday Education and Science Minister Prof. Dainius Pavalkis presented the European Commission’s ECTS Label badge to MRU Rector Prof. Alvydas Pumputis, as MRU joined the ranks of only 64 other institutions with such recognition. The festive ceremony took place at the Seimas during a confererence, „Europe’s Citizen.” „This Label is a sign of recognition of an institution that fosters internationality,” said the Education Exchange Support Foundation’s Director Daiva Šutinytė. Ukrainian journalists visit Lithuania

During the visits ukrainian journalists from state TV channel, print and online media not only visited few Universities, but also met vice minister of the Ministry of Education and Science Rimantas Vaitkus, learned about Ukrainian businesses that invest in Lithuania and had tours around the biggest Lithuanian cities. Lithuanian institutions among most international universities in Europe

After the announcement of Erasmus international students and staff’s exchange statistics for 2010-2011, it turned out that six Lithuanian universities are among 100 of the most international Universities in Europe. Target set on Belarus

Two institutions of Higher Education in Lithuania – Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) and Alytus College (AK) has set their minds to develop their bases in Druskininkai (Lithuania). This town in the south of the country is not only famous for health resorts and spa’s, but also close proximity to Belarus and Poland. Nigerian Student Fulfills Childhood Dream in MRU

June 25th, after 4 years of studies at MRU, Nigerian student Omotayo Fayemiwo graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. He says now that he finally fulfilled his childhood dream to study abroad.   Omotayo is the 1st Nigerian student to graduate from a Bachelor’s Degree programme at MRU. “It was my childhood dream to study abroad and now I complete my dream and I am quite happy about that,” Omotayo said just days before his graduation.  Now there are about 40 degree-seeking students from Nigeria at MRU. American and Šiauliai Academics Determined to Strengthen Collaborations

During International Week in  May,  an  official  delegation  from  the  University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) visited Šiauliai University to  participate  in  the  “Studies,  Science  and Culture  without  Borders”  conference,  to  acknowledge  and  celebrate  the  15-year  anniversary of  the  ‘sister  university’  collaboration  agreement  between  both  universities  –  together  with their Šiauliai colleagues, and to discuss future paths of collaboration. Image film presenting Lithuania and inviting to consider it as a destination for studies has won an award in Digital Communications Awards 2013. More than 600 European companies and organisations submitted their digital communication campaigns, out of which 150 were nominated in 38 categories (full list). Lithuanian clip, which won in the „Best Image Film“ category, was created by Education Exchanges Support Foundation and advertising agency Leo Burnett Vilnius.
