The study program opens the doors for reaching international heights
It is not a secret that most startups or businesses fail in the first year. Research shows that common mistakes of such failures are: no market need, wrong team and lack of finance. Although startup is still a relatively new business model based on innovation, it has great potential for business development. Lithuania can be proud of 2 successful unicorn startups (worth over 1 billion USD) – clothing exchange and trade platform startup “Vinted” and cyber security solutions company “Nord Security” which was recently evaluated for an estimated 1.6 billion USD. There are more than 15 MRU alumni employed in the latter including one of the founders, Tomas Okmanas.
The new study program “Startup Building and Entrepreneurship “ is for ambitious future startup creators and businessmen who want to create innovative products or work in leading Lithuanian and global companies. Studies are for a 3-year period and will be held in English language. During the first year of the program students will focus on improving their thinking and characteristics of a businessman. Students will work with the latest world frameworks such as Lean Startup Methodology, Lean Business Model Canvas, Google Sprint, Design Thinking, etc. The objective of the second academic year is to find the elusive product-market fit and build an MVP. During the third-year students’ startups will compete for investors, distinguished entrepreneurs, mentors, and other experts in the field. In addition, students will have an opportunity to get a 25 000 USD investment for their startup idea from MRU Bachelor program “Startup Building and Entrepreneurship” partners and investors.
Partners of the study program: Startup Lithuania, Zyro, GovTech, Gamechangers.
