Record-High Rankings for Lithuanian Universities in 2022

The QS World University Rankings 2022 were released yesterday, 8 of June. This year’s rankings are the largest ever published by QS. 1,300 institutions from 97 locations around the world are featured here overall.

We are happy to announce that Lithuanian universities have reached the record-high position amongst the top universities of the world! The latest edition ranks Vilnius University (VU) at =400, which puts the oldest higher education institution in the Baltic region among the 400 best universities in the world. This is the highest rating ever achieved by Lithuanian universities in the global ranking of QS.

Besides Vilnius University 4 other Lithuanian universities were ranked. Vilnius Tech (VGTU) is ranked at 751-800, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) along with Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) are both ranked at 801-1000.

The QS World University Rankings is the most-widely read annual publication of university rankings. It comprises the global overall rankings and names the world’s top universities. As with previous years’ results, universities from around the world have been assessed according to six different criteria: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty to student ratio, citations per faculty, ratio of international faculty members and ratio of international students.
