Type of scholarship: short-term Lithuanian studies in the 2026 Autumn semester (1 semester, max. 5 months).

Number of scholarships:

• For foreigners (except (a) citizens of Russia and Belarus and (b) citizens of other countries if they are students, lecturers or researchers at the Russian or Belarusian higher education institutions) and Lithuanians from abroad as well as foreigners of Lithuanian origin from all countries (except if they are students, lecturers or researchers at the Russian or Belarusian higher education institutions): 10
• For students, lecturers and researchers of centres of Lithuanian (Baltic) studies (except (a) citizens of Russia and Belarus and (b) citizens of other countries if they are students, lecturers or researchers at the Russian or Belarusian higher education institutions): 20*

* The number of candidates from one centre of Lithuanian (Baltic) studies is not limited.

Programme requirements for the short-term Lithuanian studies

Applicants for the short-term Lithuanian studies scholarships are required to choose and design their study programme in such a way that at least 50% of the subjects are related to Lithuanian studies, which might include subjects such as Lithuanian philology, linguistics, literature, Lithuanian history, ethnology and folklore, culturology, etc.
