Programme overview

The Social Work study programme is designed to train high‑quality specialists capable of supporting individuals and communities in diverse social environments. Throughout the programme, students explore the theoretical and practical foundations of social work, with particular focus on working with people with disabilities and older adults to enhance their well‑being and quality of life. The curriculum introduces modern social theories, disability psychology, sociology, social justice and well‑being policy, and is delivered as a joint study programme with the Open University in Ukraine.
Learning is supported through versatile, practice‑oriented methods, including problem‑based teaching, case analysis, critical thinking and cooperative learning, while regular one‑to‑one consultations help students shape their studies according to their interests and research goals. Graduates are fully qualified to work as social workers in various organisations, contribute to NGOs and social movements, engage in public sector roles at state or municipal levels, or pursue further academic development through PhD studies.
