Programme overview

The Master’s program in Future Media and Journalism is designed for communication and information practitioners, journalists, and researchers. It is an interdisciplinary study program where you will familiarize yourself with contemporary trends in journalism, technological innovations, and principles of creating various forms of communication content – text, audio, video, multimedia, virtual reality, and others. You will explore news and content creation strategies, delve into topics such as post-truth and contemporary information wars, analyze various communication ecosystems in Europe, search for the best digital storytelling formats, and engage in investigative journalistic practice. This program is taught in English, combining modular learning, classroom, and distance learning formats – allowing you to flexibly combine studies with other activities. Additionally, during your studies, you will have the opportunity to participate in international exchange programs and engage in international research projects conducted by faculty members. After completing the master’s program, you will be able to work in Lithuanian and foreign media, be an editor, analyst, develop your innovative projects, and further pursue studies in related scientific fields in doctoral studies.

Career opportunities

The program nurtures entrepreneurial attitude: program graduates will acquire qualifications and a great diversity of skills and detailed professional competences ranging from the most general related to the comprehension of societal process to the most specific and subject (journalism and media) focused. Program alumni will be qualified to work in media and communications organizations, research and training institutions, media monitoring bureaus and market research companies. The Master’s Program in Future Media and Journalism qualifies for further studies, including PhD programs.
