Programme structure
Study location:

After studies you will:
- Manage personal and corporate finances, plan budgets, and make investment decisions;
- Ensure effective management of financial institution services;
- Analyze markets, apply investment evaluation models, and prepare financial forecasts;
- Use modern financial technologies and analytical tools;
- Assess financial risks, build investment portfolios, and optimize returns;
- Understand and apply the fundamentals of financial law in practice;
- Conduct independent research, interpret economic indicators, and provide insights for managers or clients.
You will study:
- Economics, management and marketing;
- Banking basics and bank products;
- International bank operations and trade funding;
- Financial accounting and finance analysis;
- Basics of investment and management of business investments;
- Crediting systems;
- Bank risks and their management and etc.

- A financier in a company of business or public sector;

Admission Requirements
HOW TO APPLY?
Application for admission to the SMK College of Applied Sciences must be submitted online.

Below is the list of documents that you will need to submit together with your application:
- A receipt of the paid non-refundable application fee* (200 Euro for foreign nationals, and 120 Euro for the citizens of the EU and the EEA countries).
- A Copy of a valid Passport (valid for at least a year)
*For those applying from Nigeria through the VFS visa centre, the passport needs to be valid for at least 18 months.
- Entry qualification documents (e.g. a copy of the original High school/secondary education diploma, and/or a copy of the School Leaving Certificate or a College Diploma);
Note: translation of the documents into the English/Lithuanian languages. Often, you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translation(s). Each program has separate subjects which need to be passed. Needed subjects are listed in the requirements on https://apply.smk.lt/. The overall percentage of Secondary School Diploma must not be lower than 50% and meet the country-specific requirements, which you can find on the website https://apply.smk.lt/.

Country-specific requirements to receive the Official recognition of the school-leaving certificate.
- A Copy of the International English Language Test Certificate confirming the applicant’s knowledge of English. Accepted proof of proficiency: FCE or CAE, IELTS 5.5+ or TOEFL 69+ or one of the following: LanguageCert IESOL B2+, PTE Academic minimum score requirement: 59+, Duolingo English test 100+. If you do not have a chance to take the English language test, SMK offers the option of taking an online English test.
Please note: Applicants who have obtained previous education in English do not need to provide separate language proficiency. The price for an English test is 50 Eur, where the applicant’s speaking and writing skills are tested and evaluated. Please contact admission@smk.lt if you are willing to pass an internal test.
Exemption applies to those applying for the English Foundation Programme.
Exemption for those who have finished the English Foundation Programme at SMK:
If you later apply for a Bachelor’s degree, you only need to provide your English Foundation Programme certificate.

* A letter from your teacher or employer, where he/she describes your abilities and qualities as a student or employee.
Please have in mind that your application can be processed only when you submit all the required documents. After your application is complete, it will take up to 5 working days for the admission committee to give feedback. All accepted students will receive acceptance letters with detailed instructions on how to confirm their acceptance and prepare to travel to Lithuania.
Once you submit your application, and your application is accepted, you will need to pass:
1. The entrance examination for these study programmes ONLY:

The entrance examination for entrants to this study programme consists of:
– Assessment of a portfolio presented by the applicant;
– Assessment of factors for selecting the area of professional activity.
2. Motivation Interview:
After the applicant has paid the application fee and submitted the application, we invite him for a motivational interview. The interview is done online using the Google Meet platform, and the basic goal is to evaluate the reasoning and motivation of a future student. After an interview, the decision of admission is given within 5-7 business days.
