Programme overview
The aim of the programme is to train specialists proficient in linguistics, provide them with fundamental linguistic knowledge, high-level communicative competences in English and another foreign language (Swedish, Spanish, German) relevant on the labour market. Future-specialists shall be able to analyse and study the following languages in an intercultural range, shall gain the basics of translation and be capable of applying their knowledge when communicating and collaborating with people in two foreign languages.
Intended learning outcomes of the following study programme correspond to the areas of occupational activities, according to which trained specialists shall be able to: Pursue a career in the Klaipėda City Municipality; Klaipėda Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts; local, international insurance companies; Klaipėda city and regional tourist information centres; cultural, educational information centres; Lithuanian sea shipping and other marine organizations; translation departments of city and regional newspaper offices, and other city or regional institutions and bodies; Continue their studies in MA study programmes in the field of linguistics or find jobs in any other region in Lithuania, EU, or worldwide (international institutions or business offices). The programme allows realization of competences in a broad geographical and cultural sense.
Application fee: The Application fee for degree study programmes is for citizens of the EU member states or countries of the European Economic Area (Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Belarus, Armenia, and Azerbaijan), as well as those who have a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania: €75. For other students: €180. (Application fee is non refundable).
