Programme overview
Master’s study program in Digital Twin Technology combines fundamentals of intelligent systems, signal processing and mathematical modelling that enable engineers to create digital models of various machines, natural processes and even humans. This study program focuses on new emerging technologies that are currently successfully applied in the development of digital twins in various applications. Students will learn how, using artificial intelligence models, we can build a digital twin of the human as a 3D model, emulate speech, mimics and body gestures. Subjects related to real-time systems and signal processing will lead to understanding how new digital twin technologies are developed to maintain complicated automation systems, enabling the development of smart house control algorithms, predicting failures of different mechatronic systems, emulate behavior of different sensors that work simultaneously in complex environments, such as autonomous vehicles.
Students in the Digital Twin Technologies Master’s degree programme will gain specialised knowledge and hands-on skills to design, implement, and refine digital twin systems. They will explore cutting-edge topics, including generative modelling, avatar creation, human speech synthesis, and behaviour modelling. These concepts will be applied to practical challenges in smart infrastructure, autonomous vehicles, and industrial systems, utilising IoT and 5G technologies. Additionally, students will have opportunities to participate in real-world projects requiring digital twin solutions or to analyse recent case studies from Lithuania and Europe, providing valuable experience and a deep understanding of industry practices.
The programme also emphasises the development of soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, and effective communication, preparing students to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. By mastering both technical and interpersonal skills, graduates will be well-equipped to develop and implement digital twin solutions across various sectors, empowering technological advancements in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
