Study Dental Hygiene at KVK!

The Oral Care Department prepares a highly qualified oral care specialist who, working independently could provide oral care services taking into account the needs of patients assess oral health status and the need for preventive and interventional procedures, systematically educate individuals and the community. During practical studies, students continuously learn, develop and consolidate their manual skills as Dental Hygiene specialists, as well as develop communication skills with the prospective patient and learn how to teach the patient the principles of oral care.

Dental Hygiene students are constantly involved in conducting applied research because study programme is emphasized on oral health promotion in the community aspect, oriented towards Scandinavian oral disease prevention model Research is often commissioned by various business companies and carried out by students, who then use the data to prepare their final theses. These students have the opportunity to hear first-hand about innovations in the field of oral disease prevention, as business representatives periodically prepare presentations of the latest products for KVK students. KVK practical training bases with modern dental chairs are adapted to simulate real working conditions. Many students also enjoy the opportunity of the Erasmus+ programme and often choose to study and do internships in foreign countries like Portugal, Turkey, Sweden or Italy.

 

Programme structure

In the dental hygiene study programme implemented by KVK, unlike in the analogous programmes of other Lithuanian higher education institutions, special attention is paid to the development of oral health in the community. Students of the dental hygiene study programme are actively involved in the applied researches of oral health-related quality of life science in various community groups conducted by teachers.

Admission Requirements

To make application for studies, applicants have to apply online HERE:

    1. Add motivation statement;
    2. Add colorful and good quality notarized copies of secondary education (or any other) documents (additional educational documents might be required according to applicant’s country of residence);
    3. Add colorful and good quality notarized copy of the passport;
    4. Add a valid document confirming the level of English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, LanguageCert IESOL B1+, etc.).
    5. Add (at least) 1 recommendation;
    6. Add a proof, certifying payment of the non-refundable Application fee (120EUR) to the KVK account (details are written below);
    7. Additionally, add recognition document of secondary school diploma (if you had your documents evaluated by SKVC before 14 May 2021). In other case, your secondary education documents will be evaluated by KVK staff member.
    8. Additionally, add statement regarding work experience, if any.

All documents must be translated into Lithuanian or English language (if issued in different language) and notarised.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

We require minimum B1 level in English language level from all applicants. Assessments of English language proficiency certificates equivalent to level B1: TOEFL Paper 477-510, TOEFL IBT 53-64, IELTS 4.5-5.0, PTE level 3. If an applicant does not have such document, English language level will be estimated remotely by KVK staff member. If secondary education was provided fully in English language, then applicant needs to provide confirmation from the school regarding it.
