Programme overview
The aim of the Dance and Education study programme is to train a dance art specialist who possesses the necessary competences for professional activity – including intercultural, professional and subject-specific competences. The graduate will have acquired a systematic knowledge of the history and theory of dance art, mastered methodologies of various dance styles (ballroom, folk, performative), and be able to apply them in practice.

This is a unique first cycle study programme in Lithuania that prepares professional dance art specialists. From the third year, it is possible to choose alternative (ballroom, folk, performative) dance study subjects.
During the study process, the integrated teaching model is applied. In the programme, in addition to the subjects of the main (dance) field of study, subjects of other fields – music, theatre, pedagogy are studied. Students are educated by the most famous Lithuanian dance artists, scientists and there is constant cooperation with well-known professional foreign dance art specialists.
Graduates are able to work as performers or artistic directors of dance groups in various cultural institutions, amateur and professional dance groups, initiate private, project activities of dance education and the creation of new groups.
