Programme overview
Through training in oral, written and visual communication, media and technology systems, interpersonal communication and negotiation, persuasion and leadership, the Contemporary Communication program develops competent and ethical communicators who lead transformation in public, private and social enterprise, using the interrelated media of today’s global environment.
Employment Opportunities
A major in Communication prepares graduates for employment in a wide variety of positions that require any of the following: strong oral and written communication skills, an aptitude for nurturing relationships, an ability to communicate ideas in engaging and relevant ways to different audiences, an understanding of communication dynamics in private, organizational or public contexts. Such positions can be found in business, politics and law, media and entertainment, education and social work. A degree in Communication allows graduates to be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances in their professional life. A Communication major can also prepare a student for graduate school in communication studies, information technology or related fields in the social sciences and humanities.
The Corporate Communication module prepares graduates for employment in positions such as public relations or marketing specialist, corporate management, human resources, media relations, account executive, special events planner, communication consultant, speechwriter.
The Information and Communication Technology module prepares graduates for employment in positions such as system and network designer and analyst, information and project manager, communications specialist, solutions architect, technical writer.
Programme structure
Year 1 / students are introduced how to:
- Improve in the art of public communication
- Begin the process of mastering the basics of organization and delivery
Year 2 / students learn about:
- Video production
- Public relations
- How media shapes the digital world
Year 3 / students apply their knowledge to:
- Brand-to-consumer relationships that help a company grow
- Person-to-person relationships that make a community grow
- Communication job relationships, visiting local business, governmental and media sites
Year 4 / in their final year students:
- Learn how to seek compliance
- Learn how to avoid the tricks of propaganda and manipulation
- Plan and execute an independent and practical research project about communications
Admission Requirements
LCC accepts applications for admission from students of all nationalities and religious backgrounds who are interested in studying in an international learning community.
If you are considering applying to LCC, you should keep in mind the following deadlines:
- Early application deadline – February 15
- Final application deadline – April 15
- Final application deadline for LT/EU citizens – July 15
STEP #1 APPLICATION FORM
Submit an online application form for BA studies. Attach a scanned copy of your passport and a document-size picture. Wait for a follow-up email from your Admissions Counselor.
STEP #2 SUBMIT HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS
If you are in the last year of school, submit your official transcripts from your 10th, 11th and the first semester of 12th year grades;
If you are already a school graduate, submit your final and official high school diploma, final transcript and exam results.
STEP #3 TAKE AN ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST
We accept TOEFL ITP (min. 500), TOEFL iBT (min. 61), IELTS (min. 6.0) Academic, PTE ACADEMIC (min. 53), PTE General (min. LEVEL 4), CPE or CAE (min C) test certificates.
STEP #4 RECEIVE AN INVITATION FOR AN INTERVIEW
Once we have your application package, you will receive an email with the invitation for an interview with the Admissions Committee.
