Programme overview
Providing people with quality, safe, and healthy food daily is one of the most important global challenges that food scientists and technologists face today. Food Science and Technology bachelor’s study programme provides students with integrated competencies and skills necessary for future food technologists in the fields of food chemistry, microbiology, technology and engineering, nutrition, and entrepreneurship. Students gain hands-on experience while working together with experienced food technologists in modern food technology labs, equipped with pilot-scale technological lines, and being involved in real-life problem-solving. The programme also offers opportunities to participate in student exchange programmes and internships abroad, allowing students to gain invaluable international experience. Food Science and Technology is the only bachelor’s study programme in the Baltic States accredited at an international level with the ASIIN Seal and the EQAS Food Quality Label. Graduates can pursue careers in food production, quality and safety assurance, new food product development, consultancy, or continue their academic studies.
