Programme overview
In a world shaped by rapid economic change, sustainability challenges, and data-driven decision-making, economists play a key role in guiding governments, businesses, and international organisations. The BSc in Economics provides a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and applied economics, enabling students to analyse markets, public policies, and global trends. The programme is delivered by the AACSB-accredited School of Economics and Business, placing it among the top six percent of business schools worldwide and ensuring high academic quality and international recognition. Students gain hands-on experience through project-based learning and internships, with access to the Bloomberg platform and BMC certification, as well as Erasmus+ mobility opportunities. Graduates pursue careers in public administration, finance, consulting, data analysis, or continue at master’s level.

Programme Structure
The programme integrates economic theory, quantitative analysis, and applied learning to develop strong analytical and decision-making competencies for the global economy.
- critical thinking, strategic thinking, entrepreneurial mindset, influential leadership, effective communication and collaboration;
- collection, analysis, evaluation, and forecasting of economic data; budgeting; assessment of national and global economic processes;
- tools and software: Bloomberg platform, SPSS, EViews, and data analytics tools;
- practical training: a mandatory professional internship and a Product Development Project enabling real-world application of knowledge.
Admission requirements
Funding opportunities
All international students automatically become candidates to receive the Scholarship for International Students, which is assigned for first-year Bachelor or Master students with strong academic records and motivation.
The residents of European Union countries and the global citizens of Lithuanian origin can apply for state-funded study places. This means that all the applicants, who fall into one of the aforementioned categories, will participate in the general admission’s competition for state-funded study places and get the chance to study free of charge, depending on their admission score.

Campus life
The main KTU Campus is within walking distance from the city centre. In the campus, university sports halls and courts, dormitories, shops and recreational areas are all nearby. KTU boasts the active student community, with 6 art societies and over 20 students’ organisations. Our students can choose from 100 weekly sports classes, and join one of 20 sports teams. All of this is free of charge.
Over 40 thousand students study in Kaunas, and of these, around 10% are international students. Lush parks, lively squares, cosy cafes and buzzing cultural life make Kaunas attractive not only as a travel destination but also as a place to live.
