Different Directions in Psychology

Clinical Health Psychology at LSMU allows students to discover which area of psychology interests them most. The programme introduces a variety of specialisations and practical fields.

Neuropsychology

Students explore brain functioning, cognition, behaviour changes after injuries, neurological disorders, and rehabilitation processes. This field combines psychology with neuroscience and helps better understand how the brain influences behaviour and everyday functioning.

Addiction Psychology

This field focuses on addiction, recovery, prevention, motivation, and behavioural addictions. Students learn to look beyond stereotypes while analysing real clinical situations and modern approaches to psychological support.

Child & Family Psychology

Focused on emotional wellbeing, relationships, counselling methods, and family dynamics, this specialisation prepares students to work with children, parents, and families facing different psychological challenges.

Rehabilitation Psychology

Students learn how to support individuals adapting after illness, trauma, injury, or disability. Rehabilitation psychology combines emotional support with long-term recovery and adaptation processes.

Oncopsychology

This area focuses on psychological support for oncology patients and their families during treatment and recovery. Students gain insight into the emotional side of healthcare and the importance of psychological wellbeing alongside physical healing.
