Face Masks are Mandatory Again in Shops and Service Points!

The Government of the Republic of Lithuania informs that as of Saturday, 1 August, protective face masks will become mandatory again to wear on public transport and in enclosed shopping and service provision locations.

According to the website of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, face masks will not be mandatory in public catering facilities and during cultural and sporting events. Exceptions will also be applied to the services that cannot be provided while wearing a mask (such as beard trimming).

The changes will take effect on Saturday, 1 August, by the decision of the Minister of Health, State Commander of National Emergency Operations.

The new measures are part of the integrated decisions taken by the Government to manage the spread of the COVID-19 disease (the coronavirus infection). Residents are also invited to observe a safe distance, personal hygiene, and cough etiquette.
