Students of China, BEWARE of the FAKE “Study in LT” WeChat account!
We have recently been notified of some illegal activity happening in China and we would like to notify everyone about it ASAP!
It is now apparent that a third party, which is in no way affiliated to our organization, has registered a fake “Study in LT” account on “WeChat” (a mobile text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tencent in China) and have been scamming Chinese students, who are curious about studying in Lithuania.
This fake “WeChat” account is using “Study in LT” logo and visual identification, which is copyrighted material. The creators of this fake account have been scamming students in paying money for the help to apply to Lithuanian universities, however the Lithuanian universities never received their application material and students never received any refund.
This is unacceptable!
We would like to inform everyone that “Study in LT” is the ONLY official national website for higher education in Lithuania. We are a non-commercial national information and support centre for students who wish to study in Lithuania. Our aim is to inform the future foreign students, their parents and others about Lithuanian higher education system and nuances of living in Lithuania.
That being said we NEVER charge any money for the information, help and support we provide to international students. We value your trust! Your sincere interest in study opportunities that Lithuanian universities have to offer is the best payment we could ask for.
The following are the ONLY official “Study in LT” accounts online:
- The official website – www.studyin.lt
- The official Facebook – www.facebook.com/StudyinLithuania/
- The official Instagram – www.instagram.com/studyinlt/
- The official LinkedIn – www.linkedin.com/company/study-in-lt/
If you have noticed any other illegal activity online regarding studying in Lithuania, or if you yourself have been scammed by the aforementioned “WeChat” account, PLEASE notify us by email (info@studyinlithuania.lt).
We thank you for your kind cooperation. Beware of fraud and, please, be safe online.
