International Students Visited VGTU Partners – Global Business Centers in Vilnius

November 8th foreign students of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) visited global business centers – some of VGTU partners based in Technopolis – the biggest complex of international business offices in Lithuania. International students from 15 countries were introduced to working opportunities in Lithuania and options regarding legal stay in Lithuania after graduation. They also had presentations regarding their working opportunities.

“Attracting new tallents is one of the key priorities for Lithuanian economy. International students who have chosen our country for studies are among the most wanted potential employees. Having one of the largest international student communities in Lithuania overarching 10% of   the whole student body, we wanted to organize an event that is a full package of both relevant information and visiting some of our great VGTU partner companies firsthand to have a better feeling of their work culture and environment. We do hope  that this visit could become a great motivation start for their professional careers  here in Lithuania”, says vice-rector for strategic partnerships Asta Radzevičienė.

The event started students having presentations. Representatives of Migration department Rokas Tamošaitis and Markas Veršilovas gave a briefing about work opportunities and regulations for foreigners in Lithuania. Ieva Jurkonienė, a project manager from Invest Lithuania, provided information about business centers that have already come to Lithuania and overall overview why our country is that attractive to them. Sigita Zulonienė project manager from Startup Lithuania, talked about Startup visa – what is it and how to get it.

Afterwards, students had tours and presentations about e-commerce company specializing in travelling – Booking.com, which has its service center in Lithuania, visited a newly established office of Bazaarvoice – USA company, focusing on marketing technologies. Tours ended in Western Union – a giant financial services and information technologies company.
The event had a very high interest among last year full time and exchange students, especially in the fields of business and information technologies. Students said that events like this should be done more often. The overall event was evaluated perfectly.
