Programme overview
Printers, smartphones, air temperature thermostats, refrigerators with digital management mechanisms, smart washing machines, robot grass trimmers, and vacuum cleaners—all of these are products of mechatronics and robotics engineers that we encounter daily. These devices play a crucial role in household chores and serve as integral components of advanced technical systems, medical equipment, and manufacturing for warfare and production.
Mechatronics and robotics specialists have significantly contributed to the fourth industrial revolution, resulting in a reduced demand for human labour. Machines and robots, capable of independent decision-making and organising work, are replacing human tasks, with humans assuming supervisory roles.
Mechatronics and robotics represent a scientific discipline that integrates key engineering fields, including mechanics, electronics, electrotechnics, automatics, and informatics. The objective of this study program is to prepare versatile specialists proficient in technological, organisational, construction, mechatronic, and robotic systems exploitation, as well as digital production supervision engineering and expertise-advisory work. Throughout the program, students acquire knowledge in IT and programming.
While a vacuum cleaner may appear as a mechanical device, it can also function as an electronically operated robot. It independently vacuums a room, avoiding obstacles through electric impulses and selecting necessary trajectories. The artificial intelligence governing the robot is developed by mechatronics and robotics specialists, significantly enhancing the quality of human life.
You will gain knowledge in engineering, programming, digital production, and automation – as well as the ability to take on technological, organisational, and consulting roles.
