Programme overview
This popular and unique course will suit those with a passion for the outdoors. The study programme is oriented towards the development of seaside-specific activities. With direct access to facilities on local beaches and along the Baltic Sea coastline, students will have physical space in which to engage in the pursuit of studies. In addition to gaining knowledge and skills in a wide range of beach and water sports, including surfing, students will also choose one specialisation module from either Basketball or Football – prepared and implemented with foreign and Lithuanian social partners.
Basketball
Basketball is a fast-growing industry that needs specialist professionals. Leisure sports study program with a Basketball specialization will give you the skills, experience, and contacts to help gain employment in the Basketball industry, whether as a coach, performance analyst, or as a member of sports science support staff. The basketball specialization has been developed and will be implemented in cooperation with the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. This will ensure that the latest educational technologies are introduced in the study process and will correspond to the needs of students and the market.
Football
If you are passionate about football, Klaipeda University’s Leisure sports study program with a Football specialization can provide you with the skills you need to thrive in various roles across the football industry. In this program, we share the methodological proposal used and developed within the FC Barcelona. This specialization is based on the theoretical models that have revolutionized the way of understanding the dynamics of team sports and the paradigm of contemporary sports practice.
Sport Dances
This sports and arts branch has been receiving special attention in Lithuania and other European countries for many years. Students who choose the specialization in Leisure Sports program – Sports Dances – will develop skills in both standard and Latin American dances. This program will provide the necessary skills to work as dance trainers or teachers in general education schools. Upon completion of the specialization, graduates will obtain a Bachelor’s degree in sports and a professional qualification in teaching.
Application fee: The Application fee for degree study programmes is for citizens of the EU member states or countries of the European Economic Area (Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Belarus, Armenia, and Azerbaijan), as well as those who have a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania: €75. For other students: €180. (Application fee is non refundable).
