Programme overview

The aim of the study programme is to provide higher college education in the field of tourism and recreation which meets the European standards by preparing specialists who are capable of making judgments of the infrastructure of tourist destination, analyze the market demand, develop and introduce the packages of sustainable tourism services, deal with hospitality issues at accommodation, work in a catering business, SPA and leisure service companies effectively by following the Christian values, provisions of sustainable development and social responsibility, and to empower them for independent professional activity, further studies and improvement.

About study programmes

Access to professional activity or further study

The acquired Professional Bachelor’s degree of Business Management will enable a graduate to work at accommodation, catering and leisure service companies, tourism agencies, SPA and wellness centers.

Access to further study: Graduates of first cycle higher education programme will be able to study further in business and public administration study fields programmes in Lithuania and abroad.

The modular study programme of Hospitality Management  consists of 12 modules: Introduction into the Studies of Professional Activity, Basics of Professional Communication, Knowledge in Tourism, Assessment of Tourism Environment, Tourism Business, Tourism Services I, Tourism Services II, : Research of Tourism Services, Tourism Business Management I, Tourism Business Management II, Alternative Tourism, Dissemination of Professional Practices.

Elements of module (study subjects): Introduction to studies, Essentials of Philosophy, Psychology of Communication, Language Culture for Specialists, Foreign Language I (English), Foreign Language II for Specialists (German/Russian), Tourism Services and Infrastructure,  Environmental and Human Safety, Basics of Economics, Marketing,Basics of Organisation of Tourism Business, Tourist Information and Booking Systems, Hospitality Business Ethics and Etiquette, Accommodation Services, Recreation Services, Catering Services, Course Work, Applied Research, Applied Mathematics, Lithuania’s Tourism Resources, Foundations of Business Law, Basics of Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Hospitality Business, Hospitality Business Marketing, Sale of Hospitality Services, Investment Project Development and ManagementPreparation of Final Work.

Elective elements of the module (study subjects): Information Technologies, Information documentation, Niche Tourism, Basics of Ecotourism, Basics of Sustainable Tourism, Intercultural Communication

Professional practice: Introduction Practice, Tourism Management Practice, Hotel Management Practice, Restaurant Management Practice, Final Practice.

Exchange studies: Possibility to take part in Erasmus+ exchange programme for studies and internships and get monthly scholarships of 300 – 700 Eur.

Minimal education of the applicant: Secondary

  1. Must apply via UNIMETIS system or via email: admissions@ilk.lt
  2. Must have a valid ID document
  3. Must have a CV (resume)
  4. Must have a certificate of maturity (Diploma and supplement)
  5. Must have a B2 English language level certificate
  6. Must have a GPA of 5 = Sufficient (40–49%) or CGPA of no less than 40% to be eligible for studies
  7. Must have a police clearance certificate
  8. Must be able to come to Lithuania in person for studies
  9. Must have enough resources to support oneself
  10. Related work, volunteering experience or additional achievements are considered to be a big advantage
