Programme overview

The PhD scholarship programme provides state-of-the-art research training and teaches advanced professional skills in communication and information research. Besides providing a solid foundation in the disciplines, including a broad range of quantitative and qualitative methods, the programme places a strong emphasis on theoretically driven empirical communication and information research. Communication and Information Sciences (CIS) programme is open to proposals on all kinds of topics related to communication and information research.

Annual Tuition Fee

Doctoral students studying at a non-state-funded doctoral place pay for their studies in accordance with the procedure established in the doctoral study agreement.

  • full-time studies – 11837 Eur (4-year);
  • part-time studies – 7891 Eur (6-year).

Funding

  • Lithuanian state scholarships are available for the first year of studies (1045 Eur/month) and the second—fourth year of studies (1210 Eur/month).
  • Every doctoral student, for research trips, etc., can use the Doctoral Fund for research.

Programme structure

  • Independent research under supervision
  • Scope of studies – at least 30 ECTS
  • Participation in international conferences and research networks, including an international internship at other research institutions
  • Presentation of research results in international scientific conferences and publications in scientific journals
  • Teaching or another form of knowledge dissemination, which is related to the PhD topic when possible
  • The completion of a PhD thesis
