Programme overview

The double diploma second-cycle study program Aquamatics uniquely combines natural and engineering sciences. The program is created to prepare highly qualified environmental engineering specialists who are able to solve theoretical and practical problems of water management, analyse and model natural water phenomena and engineering processes using the latest technologies and integrate knowledge from different fields.

The program is oriented to expanding knowledge and understanding threats of climate change and rationally evaluating/predicting ecological effects on the environment. The graduate will be able to offer practical solutions to solve climate change challenges by implementing modern digital modelling and effective monitoring methods for water and water environment protection. Upon successful completion of these studies, the degree of Master of Science in Engineering will be awarded.

Career opportunities

After completing studies and obtaining a Master of Engineering Science degree, graduates will be able to:
-work in state and municipal institutions (Ministry of the Environment, Department of Environmental Protection, Environmental Protection Agency, Ministry of Agriculture; Cities’ and districts’ municipal administrations);
-work in project preparation and as construction project managers in the environmental protection and water management sectors (Lithuanian Association of Water Suppliers, Lithuanian Construction Association, Association of Lithuanian Land Recreation Companies, Lithuanian Hydropower Association, companies of water supply and sewage network construction);
-work as aquaculture technologists in the fisheries sector (Fisheries and fish breeding companies, National Association of Aquaculture and Fish Product Producers);
-create your own business;
-to improve qualification by continuing studies in parallel master’s study programs.

Admission Requirements

Undergraduate diploma (or higher)

*Bachelor’s degree diploma or equivalent degree in one of these fields: Engineering field (Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Energy Engineering), Technology field (Technologies of natural resources), Physical sciences (Ecology, geography).
ECTS courses may be required for other fields: agriculture sciences, natural sciences and other bachelors.*

Minimum 60% CGPA

Admission score is counted based on:

Motivation letter * 0,3 + Arithmetic average of bachelor’s degree diploma supplement all subjects * 0,4 + English grade * 0,3. .

Minimum admission score to qualify: 5,4.
