Entry Qualification To this programme applicants are accepted from fields of: Biology, Molecular biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or Chemistry Engineering, Biotechnology.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY PROGRAMME?

The aim of the program is to prepare the professionals that possess the advanced knowledge and skills in both biotechnology and materials science by combining the desing and problem-solving skills of engineering with the ones of biomedical sciences and are capable of using the acquired knowledge while solving practical problems in the biomedically oriented scientific research.

WHAT WILL STUDENTS LEARN?

•    Students will acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in gene, cell, and tissue engineering, nanomaterials, nanomedicine, diagnostic nanobiotechnology, nanobioelectronics and microcapsulation of the biocomponents.
•    Students will be acquainted with the organization and planning of research and dissemination of results both in academic and industrial environments.
•    Students will be able to carry out the individual research projects, analyze and present the obtained results.

Avionics Systems Engineering

Avionics Systems Engineering programme is aimed at preparing future aircraft electrical and electronics engineers.

This study programme will allow you to gain not only theoretical, but also practical knowledge. Future avionics engineers study mathematics, physics, IT, engineering graphics, microprocessors, electronics, aircarft computers, wireless communications, navigation systems, etc. The knowledge gained is consolidated and improved during practical training and internships, which last 20 weeks altogether and are conducted in three stages:

  1. Introductory training;
  2. Aircraft technology internship;
  3. Final internship.

After graduation you will be able to work in Lithuanian and foreign civil aviation companies, military air force and home affairs system, air transport companies as aircraft continuing airworthiness maintenance specialists, as well as in government institutions responsible for flight safety assurance, airports and their units and other companies that require aeronautical / avionics engineers and technicians.

Industrial Biotechnology

With the increasing need for “green” industrial processes that would be both cost-efficient and sustainable, the contemporary world relies on industrial biotechnology experts more than ever. KTU’s master study programme in Industrial Biotechnology focuses on new research areas, which are bridging the competencies’ gap between different science and industry fields: production of bioproducts, synthesis of biologically active compounds, enzyme technology, bioprocess engineering, environmental biotechnology, renewable technology.

KTU MSc Industrial Biotechnology study programme equips its graduates with the skills to develop, produce, and analyse chemical compounds, materials, and fuel by applying innovative biotechnology methods. Providing people with quality, safe and healthy food daily is one of the most important global challenges that food scientists and technologists are facing today. By studying bachelor’s in Food Science and Technology at KTU, you will gain the interdisciplinary competencies and skills necessary for the future food technologist in the fields of food chemistry, microbiology, nutrition, technology and engineering. Roads are the treasure and pride of every country, which give travelers their first impression of any place they arive. It is highway engineers who make sure that this impression is impeccable with smart and safe designs of roads, bridges, railways, city and village streets, sidewalks and intersections, their efficient construction, reconstruction and maintenance.

Construction Engineering

Civil engineers strive to create a more beautiful and functional environment for themselves and the people around them, working towards more comfortable conditions for study, work and leisure. To achieve this, they build and modernize the structures around them – residential houses, schools, offices, shopping centres. Future engineers study geodesy, structures of buildings, geo-equipment, computer design for buildings, engineering systems for buildings, construction technologies, construction organisation, fundamentals of calculations of structures, repair technologies, building maintenance, etc. Theoretical knowledge is consolidated and improved in projects, fieldwork and internships, which are conducted in five stages and last 20 weeks in total:

  1. introductory training
  2. surveying fieldwork
  3. construction work technologies’ internship
  4. industry internship
  5. final internship

In this programme, KTK offers an option to acquire a double degree provided that student complete the fifth and sixth semesters of the programme at VIA University College in Denmark.
