Project Management

The objective of the program is to prepare highly qualified project management professionals and leaders who possess competencies in project planning and implementation, attracting and effectively managing financial and human resources, ensuring project quality control, and managing risk. It also aims to develop leaders capable of implementing innovations in their work and engaging in research in the field of project management.

These second-level studies are developed in collaboration with partners such as the IT company “DXC Technology,” which shares its practical knowledge, insights, and experience from ongoing and completed projects, presenting their success stories and challenges. The Master’s program in Project Management provides an opportunity to enhance existing leadership and management skills for current organizational managers and leaders who have general management knowledge and experience but seek to learn and apply the latest trends in project management and effective management practices in contemporary technology and business domains. The study subjects are designed in accordance with the competencies outlined in PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge 6), PRINCE2, and AGILE, which are necessary for project managers working in the international market. Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared to obtain the PMI certification (PMP – Project Management Professional).

Fashion Innovation Technologies

The content of study programme Fashion Innovation Technology integrates knowledge of fashion product design, development and production innovations. You will deepen your knowledge of the fashion product circular design and sustainable development, virtual technology and design, innovative materials and advanced production technologies. You will be able to choose a block of alternative subjects in material or marketing innovations. After completing studies, you will have the latest technological knowledge and be able to develop fashion product innovations (know-how). You will be an expert in the field and the leader of a team that creates in-demand products, you will be ready for constantly changing and uncertain environment of fashion industry.

Funding opportunities

All international students automatically become candidates to receive the Scholarship for International Students, which is assigned for first-year Bachelor or Master students with strong academic records and motivation.

The residents of European Union countries and the global citizens of Lithuanian origin can apply for state-funded study places. This means that all the applicants, who fall into one of the aforementioned categories, will participate in the general admission’s competition for state-funded study places and get the chance to study free of charge, depending on their admission score.

Campus life

The main KTU Campus is within walking distance from the city centre. In the campus, university sports halls and courts, dormitories, shops and recreational areas are all nearby. KTU boasts the active student community, with 6 art societies and over 20 students’ organisations. Our students can choose from 100 weekly sports classes, and join one of 20 sports teams. All of this is free of charge.

Over 40 thousand students study in Kaunas, and of these, around 10% are international students. Lush parks, lively squares, cosy cafes and buzzing cultural life make Kaunas attractive not only as a travel destination but also as a place to live. In 2022, Kaunas will become a European Capital of Culture.

Construction Management

In complex construction industry, any inaccurate step can be crucial on the path to the project implementation. The experts of construction management play a key role in the implementation of quality processes from the beginning to the end of the project. They are the coordinators ensuring smooth operation of related organisations and meeting the customer’s expectations, applying the knowledge of building information modelling (BIM) and geo-information systems (GIS).

Medicinal Chemistry

Medicinal Chemistry – interdisciplinary area of studies and scientific research, which involves chemistry, biology, pharmacy and other sciences for creation and development of new medicines. The scope of the programme is preparation of qualified, motivated and creative specialists, who have deep knowledge of chemistry and research skills, are able to formulate and solve the issues of medicinal chemistry science and pharmaceutical industry, seeking to work at the high tech scientific and industrial companies, which produce and supply pharmaceutical preparations, or to continue their education in doctoral studies.

Photonics and Nanotechnology

This study programme is devoted to students who wish to gain an in-depth knowledge of semiconductor photonics and nanotechnologies in order to master physics, fabrication and characterisation techniques of organic and inorganic solid-state light sources, solar cells, sensors and hybrid devices. This programme has a proven strong track record of successful employment of graduates in the high-tech industry and in further PhD studies in Lithuania and abroad.

Why choose this programme?

  • Students are offered multiple scientific research options at the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnology of Vilnius University, the Department of Optoelectronics of the Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology, or other modern labs within the National Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology.

Business Logistics

With the intensive development of international relations and rapid innovation exchange, logistics solutions and the expansion of logistics companies become particularly important in the exchange of goods and services. In Lithuania, the field of logistics occupies a significant part of the economy. Lithuanian carriers and freight forwarders are known and valued far beyond Lithuania’s borders. Large-scale projects are being implemented in Lithuania to strengthen the country’s logistics potential and opportunities. Competent logistics managers are needed to coordinate business activities and projects in the bioeconomy sector. The goal of the study program is to train business logistics specialists capable of creatively applying the results of fundamental and applied scientific research in making and implementing innovative solutions for the improvement and development of the bioeconomy sector and business logistics, especially in rapidly changing business environments. Upon completing this program, graduates will be able to start their own businesses and work as logistics department managers, responsible for managing logistical processes of business enterprises, encompassing both the movement of material goods and related information flows.

The Program Graduates will be able to work as Heads of Logistics Departments of Business Enterprises in the Bioeconomy Sector, Heads of Logistics Service Providers and their Departments, Logistics Managers of other spheres, Logistics Consultants and Specialists of Logistics Associations, Logistics Consultants and Specialists of other Business Associations. International Project Management

The International Project Management is a unique international modular programme for working students. The aim is to prepare highly skilled Project Management professionals who will be able to:

  • create harmony in chaos
  • be true leaders of teams in projects
  • programmes
  • portfolios in business and the private sector.

The programme has been designed in close cooperation with the Lithuanian Project Management Association.  Also, the logic of the programme is based on the International Competence Baseline of IPMA (International Project management association www.IPMA.Ch). Graduates of International Project management could apply for International certification IPMA D Level. IPMA certificates are widely recognized in the Project management global society.
