Economics

If we could explain economics in one sentence, it would sound something like this: “Economics is a never-ending study on how our world works”. Indeed, we always look for answers about how society, governments, or various businesses make decisions based on how to distribute limited resources and get the most out of it.

As an economy specialist, you are taking over a crucial role by making sure you are behind all of those decisions, forecasting economic matters, and proposing new, innovative solutions.

While studying, you will be able to choose from one of the 18 blocks of competencies – to specialise and gain the competitive knowledge needed in this particular block of the labour market.

Funding opportunities

All international students automatically become candidates to receive the Scholarship for International Students, which is assigned for first-year Bachelor or Master students with strong academic records and motivation.

The residents of European Union countries and the global citizens of Lithuanian origin can apply for state-funded study places. This means that all the applicants, who fall into one of the aforementioned categories, will participate in the general admission’s competition for state-funded study places and get the chance to study free of charge, depending on their admission score.

Politics, Philosophy and Society

With the rapid rise of political populism, conspiracy theories, fake news, and propaganda around the world, political sciences face new challenges that require a deeper understanding of the complex issues at hand.

These studies aim to empower societies and their individuals to understand and address these challenges. Critical thinking, complex problem-solving skills, generating new ideas, leadership, and effective communication are among the most needed competences for the future workforce that will enable students to be attractive in the labour market, and not only in the field of political science.

The programme, combining three core disciplines of social sciences and humanities, allows graduates to gain knowledge of politics, philosophy and sociology. The graduates are able to analyse social phenomena, to effectively apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods and tools, and to analyse and compare political and social processes and trends in an integrated way.
