Sculpture (Telšiai)

Aim

The Sculpture programme aims at educating a generation of independent artists, who are able to adequately evaluate art processes of the present world and take part in them.

Profile of study programme

During the studies skills of communication, idea presentation in written and spoken form are developed, qualities of being organised and socially responsible are developed, relations with art theory and management institutions are taught. Sculptors with the BA qualification are able to independently define the field of their interests, professionally create sculptures, objects for interior and public spaces, create installations in contemporary art spaces or specific places, execute performances, create light, sound and media works, study in the second study cycle.

Artworks Restoration and Conservation (Telšiai)

Profile of study programme

Program graduates are granted theoretical knowledge of general university education and study field, knowledge and understanding of art history development, artistic techniques and technologies and their development, ability to apply that knowledge (deepen, systematize, evaluate and apply in broader contemporary interdisciplinary contexts, professional activity);
Understanding and ability to apply the knowledge of heritage protection, underlying principles and laws of cultural properties management, restoration development and ethics of movable cultural properties;
Understanding and ability to apply the knowledge of cultural property analysis (historical, art criticism, chemical and physical research), restoration process, its techniques and technologies, their innovations, global practice of restoration;
Understanding, knowledge of an X movable cultural property (depending on chosen specialization) and ability to apply it in restoration, i.e. will have competence to solve incomplex or medium-complexity restoration problems (depending on specialization) of an X cultural property, prepare a restoration project (including analysis of a cultural property), to argue in favour of aptitude of intended restoration procedures and competently carry them out (i.e. will know and be able to apply means and methods of preventive protection, conservation, incomplex or medium-complexity restoration and renewal); ability according to the requirements record and document restoration process of a cultural property;
Competence to independently carry out the analysis of a cultural property according to the requirements for heritage protection (gathering and documenting information and data, systematization, evaluation, summation, presenting the analysis in a set form), where one demonstrates knowledge and application of appropriate historical and art criticism, physical (and chemical) research, analysis methods and resources; ability to evaluate, interpret analysis results and purposefully apply them in solving problems of restoration.

Scenography (Vilnius)

Profile of study programme

Graduates of Scenography get university knowledge of Lithuanian theatre, theatre art (scenography), music, literature and dramaturgy history and contemporary development. They are will be able to systematize, analyze, interpret them and use terms correctly. Students will perceive performance as a result of interdisciplinary team work (that of a stage director, actors, scenographer, technical personnel, etc.). They will acquire theoretical knowledge and skills of scenography. They will get acquainted with main resources and will be able to collect iconographic, textual material, analyze it and apply it in creating scenography. Graduates will know and be able to apply historical and contemporary theatrical techniques and technologies (stage equipment, light design, making stage set decoration), materials and their possible uses when creating scenography. Graduates will gain knowledge of puppet theatre history, techniques and technologies, scenography, they will be able to apply them in practice (puppet theatre scenography, lighting specificity, puppet constuction and production). They will be able to independently create scenographic concept of a particular opus, present it in writing, verbally, visually (sketches, models) and prepare technical blueprints of sets, costume constructions, to produce them, prepare lighting suggestions, etc. Graduates will be able to discuss issues of scenography, theatre art, and ground their creative ideas. The students also have an opportunity to choose and study courses in the Lithuanian academy of music and theater.

Interior Design (Klaipėda)

Profile of study programme

The Bachelor study programme of interior design is to prepare interior designers that have acquired the basics of interior design, architecture and fine art, essential historical characteristics of cultural development, are able to apply cutting-edge achievements and select proper methods in initiating, organizing and managing creative projects, working individually or in a team, i.e. to create independently – design and implement creative ideas by applying speciality and other methods of self-expression in evaluating, interpreting, analyzing and influencing processes of their speciality, their place in general cultural context. Candidates to the interior design study programme have to match the contest provisions. (General admission http://www.lamabpo.lt/). The basis of speciality – the block of designing and assignments parallel to the speciality – is consecutively carried out according to the problem-oriented principle, i.e. gradually the scope of problems and tasks increases and conceptual side of the problem deepens. Students get basic knowledge of designing, finishing materials and technologies, lighting technique, constructional physics. During studies students also study the basics of visual expression means and general university subjects: art history, philosophy, psychology, social communication, related technical subjects, foreign languages. The programme involves interactive study methods, forms skills of critical thinking and reflection, representation. There are possibilities in collaboration with social partners to try out specificity of team work, gain experience of presenting to specialist and non-specialist audiences in verbal or written form. Students develop self-study skills and learn to plan the learning process, understand moral responsibility for their activities. After graduation from interior design Bachelor programme, graduates are able to execute individual creative activity or work in a team by creating interiors and related objects, participate in local and international projects, work as qualified consultants/project makers for specialized firms in spheres of furniture and furniture equipment, lighting, finishing materials and equipment, use acquired universal artistic skills in collaboration with specialists of scenography in theatre, cinema, television, show business or continue studies in Master programme.

Graphic Design (Klaipėda)

Profile of study programme

Graphic Design programme prepares highly qualified wide-range professional graphic designers for industry, trade, publishing and e-publishing, service sector and creative industries. Graduates will be able to create objects of graphic and communication design linked to designing and presentation of images, identities and visual information for the markets of various products and services in traditional, virtual and interactive media. The programme emphasizes solid professional and academic links with best European design schools and Lithuanian enterprises. Graduates will be able to purposefully apply their knowledge and will have formed a professional graphic designers’ approach to their speciality.

Public Health

Public health is the population’s comprehensive physical, mental, and social well-being. During the study, public health specialists acquire leadership skills. They can analyze the population’s or target groups’ health status, assess demographic characteristics,  identify major health problems, contribute to disease and injury prevention and safety promotion, control outbreaks, and conduct screenings and vaccination programs. They develop, implement, and evaluate health promotion and disease prevention programs, plan and organize healthy lifestyle activities, and organize preventative activities in health care organizations. They promote overall health and well-being in the population they serve.

Bioinformatics

The study programme provides basic knowledge and skills in mathematics, computer science and natural sciences, enabling graduates to work in the field of information technology, especially in the institutes and enterprises specialising in analysis and application of biological data and biotechnologies. Italian Philology

“All roads lead to Rome!” This ancient saying is still relevant today. The Italian language, literature, and culture can open up many diverse paths.

Students of Italian Philology will learn the Italian language professionally and become familiar with the history of Italy and the history of Italian literature and language. During their studies, they will develop skills to analyze and assess the Italian language, culture, and literary phenomena in a broader context. Understanding the cultural and social specifics of the country, graduates will also gain competencies in translation and cultural mediation.

Classes are taught by highly qualified lecturers, most of whom are native speakers.

The programme is tailored to individual student needs, as it offers the opportunity to choose a certain number of subjects from other fields of study.

Graduates will be able to understand, create, and edit texts of various genres in the Italian language, choose appropriate language tools and styles, and communicate correctly and effectively in Italian (C1/C2) in various situations. They will be able to research a linguistic or literary problem, describe the results of the research in an academic text, present it publicly, and defend their opinion. They will be able to analyze Italy’s sociocultural context, identify the most prominent features of Italian culture, and evaluate it within a broader context.

Students from the EU/EEA, Lithuanian nationals residing abroad, and people of Lithuanian origin can apply for a state-funded study place.
