Registration for the Baltic Summer University is open until the end of June

This July, the Baltic Summer University (BSU) is back at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) and everyone is welcome to join any of its 15 programmes by registering for them online on BSU’s website. BSU covers a wide scope of areas and allows students to choose a programme that would meet their interests and needs: improve professional skills, learn new languages, discover new cultures or meet new people.

Since Lithuania is celebrating its Centenary in 2018, BSU is encouraging everyone to consider the primary reasons to invite guests from abroad, potential students and tourists to visit Lithuania. Would it be the Curonian Spit, modernist architecture of Kaunas, Čiurlionis paintings, our cold pink beetroot soup or incredibly vast variety of exotic museums?

BSU and its wide assortment of courses is, of course, one of the reasons to visit Lithuania this summer. Those who are interested in the culture, art, society, politics and economy of the Baltic countries should opt for Zoom in the Baltics, a programme tailored to cover various areas of the Baltic life, while people interested in Lithuanian culture and language (considered to be among the oldest existing languages in the world) are invited to choose the Lithuanian Language and Culture Summer Course.

There is also an option for those who want to learn or improve their English/ Lithuanian, work on their entrepreneurial skills or gain work-related experience. Upon its debut last year, Social Media Marketing quickly became one of the popular choices of our students because of its inventive and unusual approach to the topic. This year, BSU introduces two more programmes fostering creativity: Creative Media Lab and Personal Branding.

Young musicians attending masterclasses will be guided by award-winning masters, while participants of programmes in the field of natural sciences will be able to practice in cutting-edge research laboratories of VMU. Summer Internship Programme (SIP) is an option for those who are looking for an internship in the field of their interest: finance, economy, political science, medicine, social work, communications, technologies, engineering etc.

While BSU is worth visiting for the programmes alone, there is much more to it: joint social and cultural activities, introduction to national cuisine and traditions, creative workshops and trips to some must-see sites.

Registration available at BSU website.
