Vilnius University students win Bronze in International Collegiate Programming Contest

For the first time in history, student team of Vilnius University (VU) Faculty of Mathermatics and Informatics won 12th place among 140 student teams from all over the world in International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) 2018 in Beijing, China, and was awarded with Bronze medals.

VU team, consisting of students Domantas Jadenkus, Justas Klimavičius and Darius Kurtinaitis and team coach assoc. prof. Vladas Tumasonis, was the first team to solve challenge A and was awarded a special prize of 1200 USD.

More than 50 thousand teams from over 3000 universities have applied for the ICPC contest. During a very tough final challenge, VU students triumphed over teams from Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge universities and proved to have excellent programming skills and creative programming solutions.
