I’m Marika Miminoshvili, from Tbilisi, Georgia. On the 21st of June, 2016 I obtained a joint Master’s degree in Regional Development and Governance by Pardubice (Czech Republic) and Siauliai (Lithuania) Universities, after a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management at Sokhumi State University, Tbilisi, Georgia.
During my Master’s studies at Šiauliai University I did traineeship mobility under Erasmus+ programme in Pardubice University Research Center, where I worked with PhD students on different research topics. I was fully involved in all university life, duties, events, and tasks. Furthermore, in autumn semester 2015-2016 I studied at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics as Erasmus+ exchange student. It gave me a huge opportunity to become familiar with Slovenian culture, local area, university staff, and its friendly atmosphere around.
Studies at Šiauliai University cover different activities and events, which are very helpful to interact and develop creatively. First exam in Regional Economics I had at the Municipality of Šiauliai District, where I had to present my project in front of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and other Municipality’s authorities. The main aim of the project was to facilitate development of the Šiauliai District following the creative and innovative tools of the strategic management and regional development.
Except joint degree Master’s study programme with Pardubice University, some of the classes included quite intensive visits to Ministries, Municipalities, etc and discussions about existing regimes and projects.
Šiauliai University ESN gave the opportunity for a creative outlet – I taught Erasmus Students Latino dances, which helped to build social skills, increase self-esteem and the ability to communicate well in a group, as working with a wide variety of people offered insight into other cultures.
Except the fact to get education, meet different cultures, peoples, I used to perform equally well in any environment, cope effectively with the stress of reaching a deadline, be quick to adjust easily and adapt to new situations, deal and enjoy challenges. The study programme helped me to grow as a person, to develop my intelligence, spiritual comfort, and enrich my culture, provide huge opportunity of having international exposure and multicultural perspective for thinking outside the box.
