The Student of LSU is Planning to Earn a Medal for Lithuania at the Olympics
After the strenuous selection process it was revealed that a young, promising boxer Eimantas Stanionis, a student at the Lithuanian Sports University, will represent Lithuania at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Eimantas proved his skills at the ring more than enough, but his greatest achievement for Lithuania so far is the European boxing champion title he earned last year. The experts are promising a great opportunity for this young boxer to earn an Olympic medal this year.
We are always proud of our champions, but rarely consider that their achievements are inseparable from well-trained coaches. The success of Eimantas Stanionis is inseparable from the University lecturer, an honored boxing coach and biomedical PhD Vidas Bružas. This experienced specialist reveals that training athletes and preparing them for the maximum performance require not only a lot of effort, but also scientific training methods.
The Lithuanian Sports University is the only university in Lithuania that prepares such specialists, and the “Training System” study program is among the top ten in the country. Eimantas also chose the “Training Systems” studies at the Lithuanian Sports University. In the future, after he ends his professional athlete’s career, he is planning to become a coach. He claims that although it is not easy to combine studies and professional sport, the Lithuanian Sports University provides excellent conditions for that.
