  2. High School / Bachelor/ Master degree diploma and its supplement (Transcript of Records / Mark sheet) in the original language, translated into English – certified by a Notary and approved by an Apostille (for citizens of countries acceding to the 1961 Hague Convention).
  3. Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL 98 iBT / 534 PBT, IELTS 6.0., level B2; or an official document from an official institution showing you had courses in English or studied English language)
  4. Letter of motivation (300–500 words)
  5. Curriculum vitae
  6. Copy of  passport or other document of identification (Note: passport should be valid at least until June, 2017)
  7. Copy of document showing paid application fee of 100 EUR (Note: the name of the applicant and the date of payment should be indicated)
  8. 1 recent photo (3 x 4 cm)
  9. Filled and signed Letter of Concurrence.

Unique Features

English Philology is a programme that gives students the opportunity to use their knowledge of English in the process of acquiring different skills. All lectures and seminars are taught in English and teachers consult students in English.

Access Requirements

Applicant for this programme should have obtained High School graduation certificate / diploma or equivalent degree.

Competencies Acquired

Graduates of English Philology will be able:

  • to communicate with others in coherent English, both orally and in writing in different fields of activity;
  • to quickly understand essential information in documents written in English;
  • to make summaries in English and use different registers of the English language according to the context;
  • to apply their specialised knowledge in European and international institutions;
  • to use print and electronic directories and dictionaries in English;
  • to understand different kinds of writing (i.e. journalistic, literary, creative);
  • to recognise the works of major authors from different cultural periods and texts of different genres;
  • to explain cultural features of English-speaking countries and relate these to historical contexts;
  • to understand the differences between English-speaking cultures (British, American, and Canadian) as well as their native one.

Career Opportunities

The graduates of the programme will become specialists, capable of work in a variety of fields. They will satisfy the educational, academic, cultural, economic and other needs of the workplace and be capable of carrying out intellectual and cultural work independently.

The graduates of the English Philology programme may apply to a Master’s programme in Applied English Linguistics or to any other related programme.
